In a surprising turn of events, the Ministry of Finance has refused Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s direction to reduce the petrol and diesel prices by Rs. 15.40 per litre and Rs. 7.90 per litre, respectively.
Instead, the Finance Ministry announced a reduction of Rs. 4.74 for petrol and Rs. 3.86 per litre for high-speed diesel (HSD) from June 1, 2024.
The Finance Ministry has issued a notification for the revised prices.
The current prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) are as follows:
