Heavy rain in Karachi is expected again today

WEATHER UPDATE: The current low pressure in the Arabian sea, The Thunderstorm, and heavy rain to continue in Karachi today as well. The current system is hovering over Khuzdar, Balochistan and it is expected to enter in Sindh by late afternoon hours.

Karachi: Warning for severe weather conditions

According to Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD), Once again the system is gaining strength and appears to be moving towards the lower and middle parts of Sindh targetting the Hyderabad and Karachi regions.

The monsoon spell to continue heavy downpour in Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Tando Allah Yar and expected to move further towards South Punjab.

Heavy rain continues in Rawalpindi and Islamabad city since early hours of wednesday morning.

According to Met Department, Yesterday PAF Faisal Base received 138mm rainfall whereas most of the low lying areas are completely submerged.

Some of the heaviest rain in Karachi has been recorded in Malir district, Shah Faisal Colony, Korangi, Landhi,Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Saadi Town, Liaquatabad, Federal B. Area, North Karachi, Surjani Town and North Nazimabad.

However, the moderate traffic flow is seen on Shahrah-e-Faisal connecting National Highway (N5) and Jinnah International Airport with the city center is being cleared out at night.

Chief Minister Sindh declares Rain Emergency in Sindh Province

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has declared a state of emergency in Sindh following heavy rain in Karachi and other parts of the province according to the government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab.
