Honor killing: Man kills son, daughter-in-law over TikTok video

A man killed his 18-year-old son and 17-year-old daughter-in-law in an act of honor killing over a TikTok video made by the newly-wed couple.

The incident took place at Naway Kalay Village in Buner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa just a month after the man’s son got married.

According to reports, the man went to the mosque to offer his prayer when he was informed by someone regarding the viral TikTok video and killed his son and daughter-in-law in an act of honor killing after consulting other family members regarding the matter.

The bodies were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital of Daggar for autopsy and later handed to the relatives.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against he man on the complaint of the teenage girl’s mother who told police that several members of the family were involved in the killing of her daughter and son-in-law.

Honor killings are becoming increasingly common in Pakistan recently with another case being reported just a few days ago that involved a nine-year-old killing her aunt for marry out of her own free will.

Obviously, the kid did not take that action on his own and was put up to committing the crime by his father who could not accept his sister’s marriage even after 10 years.
