Operationalization and inauguration of Islamabad International Airport postponed till 3rd May

The New Islamabad International Airport was set to be operational on 20th April 2018. Despite in-completion of a lot of work at the Airport the Airport, Secretary Aviation Sqn Ldr (R) Muhammad Irfan Elahi told The News on Monday that the Airport will be operational on Friday.

However, a notification was issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of the New Islamabad Airport today on 18th April 2018 that the opening will be postponed till 3rd May 2018.

Islamabad International Airport already had faced several delays and took almost a decade to complete earlier inauguration and operational date was 20th April 2018. The airport cost has already crossed Rs81 billion and still the Airport is not 100% complete according to sources.
