Islamabad Traffic Plan For 16 September 2022

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued a detailed Traffic Plan for 16 September 2022 on account of the Chehlum Processions for the martyrs of Karbala.

According to the Islamabad Traffic Plan, the ITP will put diversions on several roads along the route of processions to avoid traffic congestion and any untoward incident taking place during the processions.

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued a Traffic Plan for 19th Safar Chehlum Procession, which will commence at 1:00 pm from G-6/2 Imambargah and travel a distance of 5 kilometers before concluding at the same point at 06:30 pm.

Procession Route

According to the Islamabad Traffic Plan on 16 September 2022, the procession will start from G-6/2 Imambargah towards Luqman Hakeem Road, G-6 Service Road, Saddar Road and turn towards Street 33 and take a left towards Street 40 and another left towards Melody Chowk, Shuhada Chowk, Police Station Aabpara towards Poly Clinic, Luqman Hakeem Road and finally commencing at G-6/2 Imambargah.

The diversions will remain in place from 8:00 am in the morning until the end of the procession.

The police has provided complete details of diversions and alternate routes during the procession, which are explained in the post below.

According to the Islamabad Traffic Plan, Fazal-e-Haq Road will remain closed from Kalsoom Plaza Chowk towards China Chowk on both sides, while commuters will be able to use Jinnah Avenue as the alternate route.

Meanwhile, 7th Avenue will remain closed from Daman-e-Koh towards Chanda Tara Chowk, and Blue Area towards Soharwardi Road on both sides. However, the commuters will be able to use Jinnah Avenue, Soharwardi Road, and Margallah Road for travelling.

Saddar Road will remain closed from Iqbal Hall towards Melody Chowk on both sides with commuters able to use Aabpara Soharwardi Road. Similarly, Municipal Road will remain closed from Lal Masjid towards Shuhada Chowk and GPO Chowk on both sides.

Meanwhile, the commuters will be diverted towards Shaheed-e-Millat Road.

Luqman Hakeem Road will remain closed from Poly Clinic towards Iqbal Hall, while commuters will be able to use Jinnah Avenue as the alternate route.
