Imran Khan’s Leaked Image From the Courtroom Goes Viral

Pakistan’s former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, participated in a court hearing through a video link from Adiala Jail, presenting his plea against alterations in the country’s anti-corruption laws before the Supreme Court.

Although his virtual appearance was anticipated to be live-streamed on the court’s website and YouTube, no such broadcast occurred. Nevertheless, a photo purportedly of Imran Khan from the courtroom quickly went viral on social media platforms.

Sources revealed that the Supreme Court administration has initiated an inquiry into the viral leaked picture of the former prime minister, taken during the proceedings on amendments to the National Accountability Ordinance, 1999 (NAO), which regulates the operations of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

In the leaked courtroom image, Imran Khan was observed wearing a light blue shirt, suggesting it was captured using a mobile device as he appeared on a laptop screen during the virtual session.

This incident transpired during Khan’s remote appearance before the Supreme Court regarding amendments to the NAO, which governs the operations of the NAB, the country’s principal anti-corruption body.

Authorities have reportedly instructed officials to review the courtroom’s CCTV footage to identify the individual responsible for disseminating the photo. Sources emphasized that the act of capturing the picture breached courtroom regulations, and the police have been tasked with taking appropriate action against the individual behind its circulation.
