King Edward Medical University moves to online classes

King Edward Medical University in Lahore has moved to online classes after outbreak of coronavirus among students according to the institute’s Vice Chancellor Khalid Gondal.

The Vice Chancellor Khalid Gondal said that the five out of 4,500 students had tested for positive for coronavirus and the situation was under control while more tests were being conducted.

The online classes for King Edward Medical University will commence from Monday while the institute also plans to take its first and second year tests online.

Furthermore, the students who were tested positive were being treated at Mayo Hospital in Lahore.

Coronavirus cases in Pakistan have seen is witnessing an uptick in cases everyday as the second wave takes hold of the country.

The number of positive cases being detected have surged past 1,000 with majority of them being reported from major cities like Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
