PTA bans sale of SIMs in KPK

November 19, 2012 PESHAWAR – Initiative taken on the directive by the Interior Ministry, The  ( PTA ) Pakistan Telecommunications Authority on Monday November 19 banned the sale of all private cellphone company’s (SIMs) Subscriber Identity Modules in the entire province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The ban would encompass the sale of SIMs at all company and franchise outlets.

To enforce the ban in the province was taken in view of the prevalent use of illegal SIMs in most terrorist activities in the province, on decision by the Interior Ministry.
