Lyari Woman Arrested for Gold Theft Used Proceeds to Fund Umrah

Karachi: Police in Lyari have arrested a woman named Shahnaz, accused of stealing 20 tolas of gold from a neighbor. The case was filed on October 27 at the Baghdadi police station.

Police officials stated that Shahnaz’s husband, Imran, was initially taken into custody. During questioning, he revealed that his wife was behind the theft.

According to the police, Shahnaz committed the crime while the neighbor was away, selling 17 tolas of the stolen gold to fund an Umrah pilgrimage.

Upon her return from Umrah, the police apprehended her. Authorities recovered 3 tolas of gold and Rs. 1.5 million in cash from Shahnaz.
