Mahandri Bridge rebuilt route to Kaghan Valley now open

BALAKOT: The Mahandri Bridge which was recently destroyed by floods has been successfully rebuilt, reopening the route to the Kaghan Valley.

The credit goes to Pakistan Army and The Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) of rebuilding of a vital connectivity Mahandri Bridge to the region.

14-day closure of Khan valley Road connecting Naran and northern areas is finally open.

Heavy rain created a landslide, resulting in the collapse of the Mahandri Bridge. The traffic comes to a halt between Balakot and the connecting route to Kaghan Naran.

Commuters are trapped, while tourists have been advised to avoid the area for the next five days. Repairing will take between five and six days.

Kalam is also cut off because the major road has washed away. Travelers should seek alternative routes or postpone their trips. As crews attempt to repair the roadways, safety is the number one priority.

Heavy rain has also triggered landslides on the Murree Road. People should avoid going there for a few days. The weather is unsuitable for touring purposes.

Farhan Abro

Hello! My name is Farhan Abro, and I'm based here in Islamabad. My journey in Pakistan's digital media really kicked off when I founded INCPak back in 2012. We built it from the ground up, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, to be a trusted voice for independent journalism. But while media is a big part of who I am, I'm also shaped by a fascinating mix of other passions. I'm deeply into automotive, which gives me a technical edge, but I also find my artistic expression through landscape photography and music. And I'm always diving into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence. Bringing all these different worlds together the technical, the creative, the journalistic, and the entrepreneurial—it really colors how I see things and approach every project. It gives me a distinct perspective that I try to bring to everything I share
