Muharram Processions in Lahore: Traffic Updates and Route Details

9th Muharram:
The Alam Procession will commence at 9:00 AM from Pando Street, Islam Pura (Krishan Nagar), and will traverse through several key locations:

  • Choke Civil Secretariat
  • Old Anarkali
  • Naba Road
  • Baba Moj Darya Darbar
  • Custom House
  • Jain Mandir
  • Secretariat Choke
  • Bhatti Gate
  • Karbala Gamay Shah

This procession is expected to conclude by 6:00 PM. Another Alam Procession will begin at 7:00 PM from Nisar Haveli, with Majalis at all Imam Bara locations.

Road Closures:
Due to the processions, several roads in the Walled City of Lahore will be closed, including:

  • GT Road at Lower Mall
  • E Block Gulberg
  • H Block Model Town
  • Areas adjacent to Imam Bara

10th Muharram:
Starting at 7:00 PM on the 9th Muharram, another procession will begin from Nisar Haveli. The route includes:

  • Mohalla Shia
  • Mochi Gate
  • Pasha Market
  • Rang Mahal Choke
  • Sarafa Bazar
  • Bhatti Bazar
  • Tibi Siti Bazar
  • Bhatti Gate
  • Karbala Gamay Shah

This procession is expected to conclude around 6:00 PM on the 10th Muharram, with an anticipated end time of 11:30 PM.

Traffic Advisory:
Residents and commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly to avoid the affected areas. Expect road closures and diversions throughout the day.
