LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrests the owner of GEO/Jang media Group Mir Shakil ur Rehman over the charges of getting favor on 54 kanal plot in Johar Town, Lahore.

According to the NAB sources, Geo/Jang Group owner Mir Shakil ur Rehman appeared before the NAB court to respond to the questions about the charges on Thursday. However, Mr. Rehman could not answer the questions after which NAB took him into custody.
Dimilar cases were filed against Mir Shakil ur Rehman in the past we as well which were level against him in the past, proven to be false and baseless.

Prime Minister Imran Khan back in 2014 warned Jang Group owner Mr Mir Shakil Ur Rehman that “I know what you are doing the character assassination and blackmailing, anyone who comes in the way of Mr Rehman and suddenly democracy is in danger and journalism is in danger but if you using journalism for your personal persona.”.
Journalists are referring to this NAB arrest of Mr. Rehman as an attack on freedom of press.
