In response to the heatwave alert issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the Government of Punjab has announced new school timings for all non-formal educational institutes in the province, with immediate effect until October 15, 2024.
According to the notification, the new school hours will be observed from 7:30 am to 11:30 am without a break from Monday to Saturday. However, this schedule specially applies to schools operating within the Non-Formal Education Management system.

Meanwhile, there has been no announcement from the Punjab School Education Department (SED) regarding changes in school timings across the province.
It is pertinent to mention that public and private schools in Punjab, including Lahore and Rawalpindi, are expected to observe summer vacations from June 7, 2024, to August 19, 2024. However, a final notification will be issued by the education department ahead of the scheduled dates.
