New Zealand PM promises to change Gun Laws

The Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern said in her second press conference held in the wake of the bloody rampage in the Christchurch city killed 49 people and wounded 42 others during Friday prayers.

PM Jacinda Ardern has promised to reform the gun ownership laws in the Pacific Ocean country.

“I can tell you one thing right now: our gun law will change. Now is the time for the change,” Ardern stressed.

The Prime Minister also said her “message was sympathy and love for all the victim families and muslim communities.”

A white male terrorist, 28 identified as Australian Brenton Tarrant, broadcasted live footage on Facebook of the attack on one mosque in Christchurch city.

The footage mirroring the carnage played out in video games, after publishing a “manifesto” in which he denounced immigrants, calling them “invaders.”

“Our investigations are in their early stages and we will be looking closely to build a picture of any of the individuals involved and all of their activities prior to this horrific event,” Police Commissioner Mike Bush said, adding that two others were also in police custody over the massacre.

None of those detained had a criminal history or was on any watchlist in New Zealand or Australia.

Farhan Abro

Hello! My name is Farhan Abro, and I'm based here in Islamabad. My journey in Pakistan's digital media really kicked off when I founded INCPak back in 2012. We built it from the ground up, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, to be a trusted voice for independent journalism. But while media is a big part of who I am, I'm also shaped by a fascinating mix of other passions. I'm deeply into automotive, which gives me a technical edge, but I also find my artistic expression through landscape photography and music. And I'm always diving into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence. Bringing all these different worlds together the technical, the creative, the journalistic, and the entrepreneurial—it really colors how I see things and approach every project. It gives me a distinct perspective that I try to bring to everything I share
