Nine Police Officers Suspended for Misconduct Towards Women and Journalists in Karachi

Nine police officers, including SHO Eidgah, have been suspended for misconduct towards women and journalists during a protest outside Karachi Press Club.

The suspended officers are identified as SHO Zaheer Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Afan, Syed Ameen, Naila Rehman, Bibi Maryam, Ayesha Rehman, Misbah Rashid, Bibi Aamna, and Hina Gul.

DIG South took notice of the incident and directed SSP South to conduct an inquiry against the officers. According to the order, departmental action is to be taken, with a report to be submitted within 14 days. The inquiry aims to hold the officers accountable for their behavior during the protest.

The conduct of the police during recent protests in Karachi has faced significant criticism, and this action is being seen as an important step towards police reforms.
