No Helmet No Fuel, ICT issued notification

ISLAMABAD: The District Magistrate, Islamabad Capital Territory, issued a notification to all the petrol pumps in the federal capital not sell petrol to non-helmet bikers.

The initiative started from Lahore as Punjab Government implemented this in Lahore and Rawalpindi after which the Sindh Government followed the similar practice and now Federal Capital territory Islamabad.

The Notification issued earlier today, says “Fuel may not be sold to any motorcyclist, who is traveling without safety Helmet.”

It has been observed that models motorcyclist that are not taking safety measures especially known unsafe wearing of safety helmets while riding the bikes causing increased death ratio of the bikers in road collision. 

It has been observed that during the current year 2018 total 68 fatal accidents of bikers have taken place in the federal capital out of which 51 not wearing helmet while riding when they met the road accidents. the death ratio of bikers due to non usage of safety helmet in the federal capital is 75% of total reported deaths.

in view of foregoing, it is directed that all petrol shall ensure that human not be sold to any motorcyclist, who is traveling without a safety helmet.   Hence, a complete ban is being imposed on the selling of fuel to motorcyclist without wearing in the interest of public safety.
