Pakistan Railways opens reservation offices in 7 cities

Pakistan Railways has decided to open reservation offices in seven cities including Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Sukkur, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta according to Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid.

Sheikh Rashid said in a video message that the decision to open reservation offices has been taken because of problems in the online ticket booking system as it is unable to cope with the load of traffic from people wanting to book their tickets online.

Thus the decision has been taken by Pakistan Railways to open reservation offices in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Sukkur, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta. Sheikh Rashid said that one window at these stations will be open for the purpose of ticket booking.

The stations will strictly observe the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to avoid the spread of coronavirus and social distancing will be maintained according to the Railways Mininster who also urged people to follow these precautionary measures as we are responsible for our own safety.

He further mentioned timings for the reservation offices which will operate from 8:00am till 5pm during which people can get their tickets from these reservation offices or order them online as the online system will start working when book traffic is divided amongst offices and online.
