PEMRA to take action for irresponsible coverage of PSX Karachi incident

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has issued show cause notices to several Pakistani news channels for their coverage of the PSX Karachi terror attack this morning.

According to the press release issued by PEMRA regarding the coverage of the PSK Karachi attack, the news channels showed irresponsible behavior while covering the incident which included showing footages of firing, dead bodies and ammunition and weapons on screen.

These channels have been given a seven days notice by PEMRA after which if they fail to respond, legal action will be initiated against them.

This is the second notice issued today by PEMRA to media channels as earlier in the day, media channels were issued a show cause notice for airing false news regarding the suspension and termination of Pakistani Pilots and Engineers working in Kuwait Airways.
