The Punjab Government has banned public concerts, fireworks and other celebratory events on New Year’s Eve in Lahore.
According to the Lahore District Administration, there will be a complete ban on fireworks in Lahore on New Year’s Eve in light of the worsening smog situation in the city.
The Government has also rejected all applications seeking permissions to display any types of fireworks in the megacity on the occasion as well.
Furthermore, the Punjab Government has also banned public concerts and other celebratory events in Lahore due to security concerns and Omicron Variant cases emerging in the provincial capital.
It is pertinent to mention that aerial firing strictly banned in Pakistan as several people get injured as a result of the celebratory firing on events such as New Year’s Eve and others.
