Punjab CM Launches DLMIS 2.0: Apply Online For Learner Driving License

Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, has launched the newly developed Driving License Information Management System (DLIMS) 2.0 that provides improved traffic services, including allowing for citizens in Punjab to apply online for learner driving license.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), interim Chief Minister Naqvi stated, “To ease the process of obtaining a learner’s license, we’ve gone digital! Now you can apply online through Police Police app, and the service is also available at 737 police stations and all Khidmat Markaz across Punjab.”

The surge in driving license applications in Punjab follows the government’s stringent measures against underage drivers and individuals operating vehicles without a valid driving license. Furthermore, the Punjab Police reports that more than 100,000 driving licenses are being issued each day.

However, it is important to note that the heightened demand for DLIMS 2.0, the newly introduced service for applying for learner driving licenses, has led to frequent outages on the website and the Punjab Police app. At the time of composing this post, both the website and the app are functioning intermittently, posing significant challenges for citizens.
