The abrupt suspension of the online system caused extensive queues and left citizens waiting, leading to a significant increase in the number of affected individuals.

Officials from the City Traffic Police acknowledged the slowdown and assured the public that they are actively working to fix the glitch as quickly as possible.

Adding to the challenges, the recent announcement by the Punjab government regarding a substantial fee hike for learner driving licenses has prompted a surge in citizens rushing to apply for licenses before the scheduled increase on January 1, 2024.

Until December 31, the current fee for a new learner driving license for both cars and motorcycles is Rs60, while from January 1, 2024, the fee will be increased to Rs. 1000.

The unexpected technical issues have raised concerns among citizens, emphasizing the need for a swift resolution to minimize disruptions in the licensing process.
