The Government of Punjab has announced that it will pay salary and pension in advance to all Muslim employees (serving and retired) ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, which is expected to fall on 21st or 22nd April 2023.
According to the details, the Government of Punjab has approved the disbursement of salary and pension in advance to Muslim employees for the current month on 17th April 2023 on account of Eid-ul-Fitr.
It is pertinent to mention that Eid-ul-Fitr is expected to fall on 21st or 22nd April 2023, depending on the sighting of the Shawwal moon in the country.
Furthermore, the Cabinet Division is yet to forward the proposed dates for Eid Holidays to the Prime Minister for approval, which are going to be from April 20 to 23 if Eid falls on 21 April and April 20 to 24 if Eid is celebrated on April 22.
The Punjab Government’s decision to pay salary and pension in advance to Muslim employees ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr comes a few days after Sindh Government announced a similar decision.
