2 Killed, 17 Injured in Lahore’s Johar Town Blast

There have been two reported casualties while 17 people have been injured in a blast at Johar Town area of Lahore on Wednesday.

According to the details, the police along with rescue and bomb disposal teams reached the site after the explosion and began rescue operation while cordoning off the area to traffic.

According to local media outlets, the blast in Johar Town was powerful enough to shatter glass windows of nearby buildings and severely damaged several vehicles in the vicinity.

The injured people were shifted to Jinnah Hospital in Lahore via private cars and rickshaws while the hospital management has asked people to come forward and donate blood for the injured.

The injured included one police official, a woman, and two children. Furthermore, the condition of the wounded is said to be critical due to nature of the injuries.

CM Buzdar asks for detailed report

Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar has asked the Inspector-General of Police to submit a detailed report of the blast in Johar Town and ordered an immediate investigation into the incident.

“The incident is being investigated under the leadership of Additional IG CTD and the Minister of Health himself is present in the field to provide the best medical facilities to the injured.” said CM Buzdar on Twitter.
