WEATHER ALERT: Flood warning for Punjab, KP & Kashmir

WEATHER ALERT: A flood warning has been issued as heavy rains are expected in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa & Kashmir according to an advisory issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

According to the advisory by the Pakistan Meteorological Department, heavy rain is expected in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir over the next 48 hours that may lead to flooding.

The flood warning advisory / alert says that, “very heavy rainfall in the catchment areas of River Kabul and its Tributaries along with Hill Torrents of DG Khan Division which may cause Medium to High Flood situation.”

Earlier Pakistan Meteorological Department a press release stating that widespread heavy rain was expected in upper parts of the country including Punjab, KPK, GB, AJK for a period of 48 hours.

Rain is expected in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and several other areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir.
