The winter vacations extended in Punjab by the Government based on the harsh cold winter being experienced.
The provincial government issued a notification that was sent to all deputy commissioners and other officials in the province stating that schools are to remain closed until the 12 January, 2020.
Schools will re-open on the 13 Jan, 2020 as per direction of the government.
The notifications reads:
In the wake of weather conditions, the winter vacations are hereby extended with effect from Jan 7, 2020 to Jan 12, 2020 in all public and private schools in Punjab,
Murad Raas, the Minister for Schools and Education in Punjab also tweeted about the notification.
Earlier, winter holidays were announced for 15 days from the 20th of December, 2019 to 5th of January, 2020 with schools reopening on 6 Jan, 2020.
