A woman was allegedly raped during a robbery that took place in Multan according to a report by ARY News.
The incident took place in the Basti Darkhana Wali area of Multan where a woman raped during a mugging and the suspect was able to flee the scene after snatching her valuables.
According to details, the victim was moved to Nishtar Hospital and police was awaiting results from her medical exam after which an official complaint will be registered.
The incidents of violence and sexual abuse against women and children (including young boys) have been on the rise in Pakistan and several cases are reported each day.
On Thursday, the Minister of Human Rights launched the Zainab Alert App allowing citizens to report missing children using a centralized system to speed up investigation and recovery.
