PPP Leader Rashid Rabbani passes away in Karachi

Senior PPP Leader Rashid Rabbani has passed away in Karachi on Thursday after being sick for many days according to his family.

Rashid Rabbani was hospitalized for many days and had also been on the ventilator but his family has not disclosed details on his illness.

He was serving as the Special Assistant to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah who expressed great sorrow on the news of his passing stating that Rabbani was one of the few close associates of the late Benazir Bhutto.

According to Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani, the funeral prayer for Rashid Rabbani will be held tonight at 10:30pm at the Sharif Park in Clifton Block 2.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman has also expressed his sorrow over the news of his passing stating that he was true asset to the party and had sacrificed a lot for democracy.
