The announcement was made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee (RHC), which convened at Awqaf Hall on Charsadda Road in Peshawar under the chairmanship of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad for the sighting of the crescent moon for Ramadan.

Meanwhile, an official notification will be issued soon announcing the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan 2024.

The meeting was attended by several committee members along with representatives from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), SUPARCO, and the Ministry of Science and Technology. Meanwhile, the zonal committees all met at their respective locations across the country.

The Ramadan moon was expected to be born on Sunday at 2:00 pm, with the possibility of sighting it today when its age would be more than 28 hours, as per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

It is pertinent to mention that the Ramadan moon has already been sighted in Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which marked the commencement of the holy month on March 11, 2024.
