ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) has asked the federal government to remove the Special Adviser to Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza from his post.
While hearing a suo motu case regarding the coronavirus crisis handling in Pakistan the five member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed expressed their displeasure over Prime Minister Imran Khan’s cabinet saying that it had become ineffective in the fight against the pandemic.
The CJP Gulzar Ahmed expressed that the court wasn’t satisfied with the performance of Dr Zafar Mirza asking about the ongoing investigation against him by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

The attorney general informed that the investigation on the matter of masks issue was still ongoing saying that removing Dr Zafar Mirza at this point was not advisable. The attorney general told the court:
Removing Zafar Mirza from post at this point will not be suitable for the country as it will create more crisis amid coronavirus pandemic,
The Supreme Court and Chief Justice Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed has been taking notice of the insufficient facilities to fight against the coronavirus pandemic and also issued notices to the attorney general, health secretary and interior secretary as well as summoning all chief secretaries and advocate generals of the four provinces.
