Senator Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar Named Caretaker Prime Minister

Senator Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar has been selected as the Caretaker Prime Minister (PM) after President Arif Alvi approved the summary under Article 224 A of the Constitution.

Earlier, an agreement was reached between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Opposition Leader, Raja Riaz, to appoint Anwar-ul-Haq as the caretaker PM of the interim setup.

PM Shehbaz and Riaz sent an advice regarding Kakar’s appointment to President Alvi.

Shortly afterwards, the President approved the summary under Article 224 A of the Consitution.

Anwar-ul-Haq has been serving as Senator since March 2018. The politician had won his seat representing Balochistan as an independent candidate.

He is also the co-founder of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP).
