Shah Allah Ditta sealed after reports of several coronavirus cases in vicinity

ISLAMABAD: The District Magistrate office directed Law enforcement agencies (LEAs) to seal Shah Allah Ditta and surrounding areas after novel coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed cases were reported.

The notification of confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) reported from Dhera Lumberdar Syed Zakki Haider Naqvi and surrounding vicinity of Shah Allah Ditta, Islamabad the area has been sealed off.

According to the notification issued by District Magistrate, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) states: “On the recommendation of District Health Office Vide U.O No 4(13)-Health/ICT/84/ dated 22-04-2020 and recent confirmed reports of individuals infected with Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) residing in Dhera Lumberdar Syed Zakki Haider and surrounding vicinity, Shah Allah Ditta, Islamabad is hearby sealed forthwith exercise of power conferred Epidemic Disease Act (1958), in larger public Interest to prevent widespread outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). Moreover, Islamabad Police, Rangers and Pakistan Army are requested to cordon off above mentioned area to ensure public safety.

On March 26, ICT directed LEAs to seal Shahzad Town and Rimsha Colony, Islamabad after confirmed cases were reported from the areas and a week earlier Bara Kahu was sealed, all areas are not partially open for public.

The Federal Government prefers ‘Smart Lockdown’ instead of enforcing complete lockdown, So far life in Islamabad is returning to normal as Grocery stores, Medical Stores, Bakeries, Milk Shops, Meat Shops, and Banks are open in Islamabad, However, general public is not allowed in public places due to Section 144 in Islamabad extended till 30 April
