Additional Inspector-General (AIG), Javed Alam Odho, has launched the Shaheen Force in Karachi due to rising incidents of street crime in the port city.
According to the details, the Shaheen Force has been launched with the exclusive duty of patrolling the streets of Karachi and preventing the rising incidents of street crime.
Like the Dolphin Force in Lahore, the Shaheen Force will patrol the markets and public places in Karachi on their motorcycles to keep an eye out for muggers.

The main purpose to launch the Shaheen Force was to curb the increasing incidents of street crime in Karachi.
The personnel of the Shaheen Force include equipped with modern weapons and radios to immediately respond to situations as per directions received from the control room.
The AIG Karachi said Shaheen Force will be seen patrolling the streets of the city within 2 days.
