The Government of Sindh has declared November 9, 2023 (Thursday) as a public holiday on account of Allama Iqbal Day.
The notification was issued by the Services, General, Administration, and Coordination Department, which stated, “The Government of Sindh declares 09th November, 2023 (Thursday) as Public Holiday on the occasion of Allama Iqbal Day, throughout the Province of Sindh for all Government Offices, Autonomous Bodies, Semi-Autonomous Bodies, Corporations and Local Councils under the Administrative Control of Government of Sindh,”
However, the public holiday is not applicable for essential services in the province of Sindh.
Earlier, a notification announcing a public holiday for Allama Iqbal Day was also issued by the Federal Government.

It is pertinent to mention that public holiday for November 9 remained suspended for several years before getting reinstated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif last year.
