Sindh Govt Bans Pillion Riding on September 29

The Government of Sindh has banned pillion riding (aka double sawari) across the province on September 29 as part of security arrangements for Islamic festival of Eid Milad-un-Nabi on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal 1445 A.H.

According to the notification, the Government of Sindh has imposed ban on pillion riding for two days on September 28 and 29 (11th and 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal) in response to the recommendation by Sindh Police Chief to main law and order situation and avoid any untoward incidents.

However, the ban on pillion riding won’t apply to women, children below the age of 12 years, senior citizens, personnel of law enforcement agencies / security agencies in uniform, employees of essential services, and journalists subject to showing their press card / service card.

It is pertinent to mention that the Federal Government has also announced a public holiday on September 29 for Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
