The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday said that during forensic examination of the servers and computers of fake degree mill Axact, it has emerged that the company also provided hosting services to 25 porn websites.
According to the FIA’s sources, over two dozen porn websites were designed and developed on the computers of Axact which are presently in the agency’s custody.
The forensic examination of the servers and computers of Axact still continues and more shocking disclosures are expected in the coming days. The allegations of running porn websites are not new for Axact and the company has refuted them as being baseless in the past.
The investigation in Axact fake degree case is also expected to speed up as the Judicial Magistrate South directed the Investigation Officer (IO) to submit final challan within 10 days in the fake degree scam case against the organisation on Saturday
The investigation officer of FIA produced the interim challan according to which the accused in the case are yet to be arrested. The accused include Axact CEO Shoaib Shaikh, COO Viqas Atiq, and three Axact directors, Zeeshan Ahmed, Zeeshan Anwar and Mohammad Sabir, and Muhammad Rizwan.
According to FIA, 2.2 million fake degrees had been recovered after the identification of the accused. The investigation officer requested the court to allow him 21 more days to complete the investigation but the plea was rejected by the court. Judicial Magistrate South Noor Muhammad directed FIA to submit the investigation within the next 10 days.
The fake degrees scandal came into national and international limelight following the publication of an investigative report in New York. The report outlined various ways that Axact used for selling fake degrees online.
