Six Pakistan Army Personnel Martyred in Helicopter Crash

The Pakistan Army helicopter that went missing after it lost contact with Air Traffic Control (ATC) had crashed in Balochistan, leaving six military personnel martyred, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.

It is pertinent to mention that the Pakistan Army Aviation helicopter had gone missing en route from Quetta to Karachi, while the personnel in the chopper were overseeing flood relief efforts in the southwest of the country after severe monsoon rainfall.

However, the ISPR, in a statement, said that wreckage of the unfortunate helicopter was found in Mosa Goth, Windar, Lasbela. According to the ISPR, the accident had occurred due to bad weather in the area as per their initial investigations.

The officers and military personnel on board the helicopter included:

  • Lt General Sarfraz Ali
  • Brig (Approved Maj Gen) Amjad Hanif
  • Brig Muhammad Khalid
  • Maj Saeed Ahmed
  • Maj Mohammad Talha Manan
  • Naik Mudassar Fayyaz
