Trains continue to face delays: Pakistan Railways

LAHORE: Pakistan Railways restoring train service after freight train derailed near Rahim Yar Khan on April 1.

The Restoration operation which started on Monday 9 pm ended after a day on Tuesday 10 pm. – Pakistan Railways officials.

However train service remain halted and expected to normalize in the next 24 hours.

The stranded passengers on Lahore Cantt station complained about the ticket cancellation and appealed Shiekh Rasheed to resign and Go home.

Train services halted after freight train consist of 13 bogies (PKA-34) derailed near Rahim Yar Khan damaging 1525 feet of track which later was replaced with the new one by rescue operation team.

Pakistan Railways (PR) authorities have suspended three officials, Qasim Zahoor the deputy divisional superintendent for Sukkur. Sohail Zia, Inspector in from Khanpur and Amjad Shahzad, the head train examiner in Khanewal.

Railways Minister, Sheikh Rasheed apologised to the public for the inconvenience.
