The UAE Government has announced a discount offer on traffic fines in Sharjah for early payments. According to the details, the motorists who pay their traffic fines early can avail up to 35% discount from April 1 onwards.
The decision was taken during a meeting of Sharjah Executive Council headed by Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the Council.
Discount Offer
The UAE Government has provided up to 35% discount on traffic fines based on the following criteria:
Those paying their traffic fines within 60 days of the date when the violation was committed will be offered 35% discount. Furthermore, their vehicle will be exempted from any penalty or impoundment.
However, if the motorist pays their traffic fine after 60 days, he/she will be offered 25% discount and the vehicle will be impounded if the violation carries this penalty. However, if one fails to pay the fine within one year of the date of violation, he/she will be offered no discount and the vehicle will be impounded as per the penalty.
It is pertinent to mention that the decision excludes serious traffic violations.
