Legendary comedian and actor Umer Sharif has been laid to rest at the Abdullah Shah Ghazi graveyard in Karachi. The actor’s funeral prayers were offered at the Umer Sharif Park in Clifton and led by Maulana Bashir Farooqi.
Hundreds of people gathered at the park to pay their last respects to the late comedian, including actors Rambo, Saud and PSP’s Mustafa Kamal.
It is pertinent to mention that Umer Sharif’s body arrived from Turkey on Wednesday morning. The late actor’s body was moved to his residence in Gulshan-e-Iqbal from the Edhi morgue. It was wrapped in a Pakistani flag and showered with rose petals.
Umer Sharif passes away in Germany
Umer Sharif passed away at the age of 66 on 2 October 2022 in Germany. The comedian was admitted to a hospital in Germany’s Nuremberg on Wednesday after his health deteriorated during his flight to the US for medical treatment.
It bears mentioning that Umer Sharif was diagnosed with multiple ailments including coronary conditions.
He was expected to resume his travel after three days of treatment in journey. However, the comedian’s condition deteriorated after his dialysis and he suffered a fatal heart attack.
