Wildfire Erupts in Margalla Hills Near Saidpur Village

A massive wildfire broke out in the Margalla Hills near Saidpur Village on Monday, rapidly spreading across the forested area. The blaze engulfed sections between Saidpur Jungle No. 15 and Romali, prompting an immediate response from the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB), Capital Development Authority (CDA), and Rescue 1122 teams.

Strong winds intensified the flames, making containment difficult. IWMB spokesperson Umar Bilal confirmed that high wind speeds hindered firefighting efforts. Authorities quickly mobilized additional personnel from the Wildlife Department and CDA to reinforce ground operations.

Teams remain on high alert, focusing on preventing further spread. Officials confirmed no casualties or property damage so far. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Firefighters and wildlife officials continue working to fully extinguish the flames. The IWMB and CDA urge the public to avoid the area and report any suspicious activity that may lead to wildfires.

Farhan Abro

Hello! My name is Farhan Abro, and I'm based here in Islamabad. My journey in Pakistan's digital media really kicked off when I founded INCPak back in 2012. We built it from the ground up, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, to be a trusted voice for independent journalism. But while media is a big part of who I am, I'm also shaped by a fascinating mix of other passions. I'm deeply into automotive, which gives me a technical edge, but I also find my artistic expression through landscape photography and music. And I'm always diving into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence. Bringing all these different worlds together the technical, the creative, the journalistic, and the entrepreneurial—it really colors how I see things and approach every project. It gives me a distinct perspective that I try to bring to everything I share
