Anna Thornton 21, Team GB Rower in Coma

Seattle USA: Anna Thornton 21, Team GB rower is in coma after falling down from stairs. Anna Thornton has won five world medals at junior levels.

She is  student of the University of Washington studying public health. She suffered an injury last month after falling down the stairs at the university. According to reports Anna is in a coma. Hospital in the United State has suggested she is in stable but serious condition.

Statement from British Rowing has said, Anna Thornton’s family has requested for privacy, their main concern right now is Anna’s health. Further information will be provided only when available.

Anna suffered from the incident in early November after falling in Seatle USA. Currently, she is student of University of Washington.

She first competed at World Rowing Junior Championship in 2014.

She has won 5 world medals for Great Britain.

After winning gold in the quadruple sculls at theWorld Under-23 Championships in 2017, Anna Thornton teamed up with Charlotte Hodgkins-Byrne to take gold in the double sculls in Poznan in July before thepair finished fourth in the senior championships.

Her fellow rowers are all very much concerned for Anna’s health. They are all hoping for her full recovery.

They all miss her dearly and they are doing all they can to ensure she receives the best possible care.
