The most-awaited match of the Asia Cup 2023 – Pakistan vs India – was a disappointment for the Pakistani cricket fans after India won by 228 runs in Colombo on Monday.
This marks India’s biggest win against Pakistan by runs in ODIs, while it is Pakistan’s third heaviest defeat in ODIs against any team.
Pakistan was just able to score 128-8 in 32 overs with everyone being dismissed by Indian ballers, except Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf, who did not come out to bat due to injuries.
Spinner Kuldeep Yadav performed exceptionally with figures of 5-25 in eight overs.
Fakhar Zaman was able to score just 27 runs in 50 balls, while, Agha Salman and Iftikhar Ahmed scored 23 runs each.
Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam was dismissed for 10 runs by Hardik Pandya.
Earlier, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul scored centuries as India set a target of 357 runs for Pakistan.
Kohli scored a total of unbeaten 122 runs followed by Rahul with not out on 111 runs.
It is pertinent to mention that Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 clash between Pakistan and India was called off yesterday due to rain.
