According to the details, PCB chairman had summoned Inzamam-ul-Haq today at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore for an investigation to allegations of conflict of interest of having a partnership with players’ agent Talha Rahmani in the UK as well as being a shareholder of the British company Yazoo.

Talha Rahmani legally represents several cricketers, including Pakistani skipper Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, which can cause conflict of interest for Inzamam-ul-Haq as Chief Selector and influence the player selection decisions.

The development comes as Pakistan is at the verge of exiting the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 in India due to consistent poor performance and an ongoing controversy that involves Babar Azam’s private conversation with a top board official.

However, Inzamam-ul-Haq has denied any relation with the player-agent company and said that he would be available if the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) wants to initiate an investigation into the matter.

PCB later released a statement saying, “Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has set up a five-member fact-finding committee to investigate allegations in respect of conflict of interest reported in the media pertaining to the team selection process.”

“The committee will submit its report and any recommendations to the PCB Management in an expeditious manner.” it added. Inzamam-ul-Haq also stepped down from his role to allow PCB to conduct a thorough investigation.

“I am stepping down from the post to offer the PCB the opportunity to conduct a transparent inquiry about the conflict of interest allegations raised in the media. If the committee finds me not guilty, I will resume my role as the chief selector.” he stated.
