Islamabad United won the match by 2 wickets against Multan Sultans in Match 24 of the ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 8 2023) held at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.
Islamabad won the toss and elected to bowl first, however, they failed to restrict Multan Sultans, who were able to set a decent target of 206 runs without a solid performance by the opening batsman.
Shan Masood played beautifully and scored 75 runs in 50 balls, while Mohammad Rizwan was also able to score 33 runs from just 18 balls. However, Rilee Rossouw failed to perform and scored only 15 runs off 15 balls.
Tim David picked up the pace once again as he hit 60 runs from just 27 balls, while David Miller was able to add 11 runs to the score total.
Islamabad United on the other hand suffered a early loss of wicket with Alex Hales being dismissed for just 1 run off 7 balls, while Rahmanullah Gurbaz didn’t stick around for much longer and only scored 25 runs off 14 balls.
Colin Munro and Shadab Khan picked up the pace as both scored 40 and 44 runs, respectively. Azam Khan, who has been giving a strong performance failed to perform in today’s match and scored only 3 runs off 9 balls.
Faheem Ashraf was also scored an undefeated 51 runs off 26 balls and guided the team to victory.
Meanwhile, the lower order batsman all failed to perform as well and barely scored 10 runs each, except, Mohammad Wasim, who managed 16 runs off 7 balls.
