Lahore Qalandars won the toss and elected to bowl first and allowed Karachi Kings to set a target of 171 to win the game through the outstanding partnership between openers Sharjeel Khan and Babar Azam, both of whom managed 60 and 41 runs off 39 and 33 balls, respectively.

Mohammad Nabi, who was the third batsman on the pitch, also added 15 runs to the total out of just 14 balls, while Joe Clarke racked up 24 runs off just 18 balls. However, the rest of the batting lineup was sent back to the pavilion without making a decent score. The Karachi Kings still managed to set a respectable target of 171 to win for the Lahore Qalandars.
Lahore Qalandars might have had a rough start with Abdullah Shafique being sent back to the pavilion very early having scored just 8 runs off 8 balls, however, Fakhar Zaman managed well and score an astounding 106 runs off just 60 balls, giving the Lahore Qalandars a fighting chance against Karachi Kings.
Mohammad Hafeez was able to add 24 runs to the total from just 21 balls, while Samit Patel guided the team to victory towards the end of the game with his contribution of 26 runs off just 18 balls.
