PSL 9: Peshawar Zalmi vs Islamabad United – Match 13 Highlights

The 13th match of PSL 9 was held at Lahore’s Qaddafi Stadium, featuring a face-off between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United. Peshawar Zalmi emerged victorious once again as Islamabad United fell short of reaching the target of 202 runs.

Islamabad United won the match and decided to bowl first. However, they couldn’t stop Peshawar Zalmi, who set a target of 202 runs. Babar Azam played amazingly, scoring an unbeaten 111 runs from only 63 balls with 14 fours and 2 sixes, while Saim Ayub also added 38 runs to the score.

Mohammad Haris and Haseebullah Khan were out early, scoring only 2 and 0 respectively. However, Paul Walter contributed 19 runs, Rovman Powell scored 8, and Asif Ali added 17 runs to the total score.

Islamabad United faced a challenging beginning to their batting innings when they lost an early wicket, with Jordan Cox being dismissed after scoring only 13 runs from 10 balls. Unfortunately, Islamabad United encountered further setbacks as they lost two more wickets, with Shadab Khan and Salman Ali Agha departing after scoring just 6 and 14 runs, respectively.

Despite the early setbacks, Colin Munro and Azam Khan took charge and added 71 and 75 runs, respectively, to the score, effectively offsetting the loss of early wickets. Colin Munro showcased his prowess with 8 boundaries, including 7 fours and 1 six, while Azam Khan impressed with 12 boundaries, comprising 6 fours and 6 sixes.

However, the subsequent batters struggled to maintain momentum and were dismissed in quick succession, ultimately falling short of reaching the target.
