The PSL 9 action keeps going strong, and the match between Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars at the National Stadium Karachi was an exciting one. Quetta Gladiators managed to clinch the victory by 6 wickets in a tight chase.
Lahore Qalandars chose to bat after winning the coin toss, but they could only make 166 runs in their first turn at bat. They had a mediocre beginning, with Sahibzada Farhan hitting only 25 runs, and Mirza Tahir Baig getting out after just 12 runs.
However, Abdullah Shafique came through, making 59 runs from 39 balls. The team took a hit when Shai Hope was out after scoring only 5 runs, but Shaheen Afridi lifted their spirits by hitting 55 runs from just 34 balls.
Still, they couldn’t set a solid target.
In the second round of batting, Quetta Gladiators suffered a big setback when Jason Roy was out early, scoring only 18 runs. But Saud Shakeel stepped in and played amazingly, scoring 88 runs from just 65 balls.
Rilee Rossouw fell for just 13 runs, but Khawaja Nafay added 26 runs from 24 balls, providing much-needed support for the win.
