During Pakistan’s innings with the bat, Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh both took three wickets as Pakistan made 159-8 against India in their opening game of the T20 World Cup 2022 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Pakistan’s openers, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan managed to make 4 and 0, respectively as they were sent back to the pavilion by Singh.

Shan Masood managed to hit an unbeaten 52 runs, while Iftikhar Ahmed scored 51 runs, however, the loss of two early wickets (Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan) to Singh put a lot of pressure on the green team with the mid-order collapsing at Pandya’s hand.

It is pertinent to mention that India has largely dominated Pakistan since the late 1990s but have lost two of their three previous Twenty20 clashes.

India had a rough start as well with 2 early wickets lost after Rahul and Sharma managed only 4 runs each. However, Virat Kohli turned the tide with an astounding 82 runs off just 53 balls as he saw the blue shirts to victory.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya also managed to score just 40 runs off 37 balls.
