Google is rumored to be working on their next foldable phone – the Pixel Fold 2. According to a report by Android Authority, some information regarding of the most important specifications have been revealed, with Pixel Fold 2 prototype units running on “zumapro” chipset, speculated to be Tensor G4.

Developed by Samsung, this chip is projected to incorporate ARM Cortex-X4, A720 and A520 CPU cores. In comparison to its predecessor, the Pixel Fold 2 is said to have 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage with a potential integration possibility for the rumored Pixel AI assistant.

Concerning the launch timeframe, it may be a while before mass production because Pixel Fold 2 is currently in Engineering Validation Test (EVT) stage. Since the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro are supposed to be unveiled in October, with both of them carrying Tensor G4 chip; there is a possibility that the Google’s new foldable device may launch along with other members from its own family.
