The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has recently announced an increase for Mobile Phone Tax for import of new smartphones in Pakistan and the decision specifically affects iPhones as they are considered a premium and luxury product in the country. In this article, we have provided a breakdown of FBR Tax on iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max for PTA Approval in Pakistan.
It is pertinent to mention that Federal Board of Revenue places Taxes on Mobile Phones in order to get Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) approval, which allows use of the smartphone in the country beyond a 60 day period, otherwise the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) is blocked for use on local networks.

Note: It bears mentioning that Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) does not decide on the Taxes and Duties to be paid for mobile phone imports into Pakistan as Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) decides on the matter and PTA is just responsible for maintaining DIRBS.
